☕ Cafés

Madagascar isn’t a café-hopping laptop culture the way Southeast Asia is — only a handful of spots are genuinely set up for remote work. The standout is Tsimoka Coffee Shop in Antsirabe, which runs its own Starlink and tested at 219 Mbps — easily the fastest café we found. Le Café in central Antananarivo is a lovely, museum-adjacent spot, but its shared WiFi is basic (~2 Mbps) and the code only lasts about two hours per drink. Outside the two big highland cities, cafés with usable WiFi are rare.

🏢 Coworking Spaces

True coworking barely exists in Madagascar. Antananarivo has a couple of spaces (Habaka, NextA) aimed more at the local tech scene than at travelling nomads, and Antsirabe has the odd café that doubles as a workspace. Don’t expect a Bali- or Chiang-Mai-style coworking scene — plan to work from your hotel or a café instead.

🏨 Hotels & Colivings

In practice, your hotel is your main office. The best hotel WiFi we tested was Restaurant La Varangue in Antananarivo (188 Mbps) and MiamMiam GlouGlou in Ambositra (95 Mbps).
