The most comfortable, hassle-free base in the capital: central, spacious, spotless rooms, the friendliest staff we met, and the fastest hotel WiFi we tested anywhere in Madagascar. It costs a little more than other Tana options, but if you want a soft landing it’s worth it.

📍 Antananarivo
Roomy and better value than the central hotels, with a genuinely good in-room connection. Two honest heads-ups: it sits away from the centre (taxi or moto-taxi, and evening traffic is heavy), and we hit a couple of brief power cuts — not the hotel’s fault, but worth knowing.
Camp Catta (Ambalavao)
📍 Sacred Forest, near Ambalavao
If you want to switch off completely, this off-grid lodge inside the Sacred Forest is unforgettable — the night sky alone is worth the trip. WiFi works well in reception (weaker in the rooms), and room power runs roughly 5:00–10:30pm. Come for nature and stars, not for a Zoom-heavy work week.
